HOPE IN ACTION: A GRATEFUL UPDATE

Dr. Lenox Mulenga: Recently completed his studies in Clinical Medicine, and practicing as a medical doctor since beginning of this year.

It’s with full hearts that we share this exciting and encouraging update on one of the strategic arms of our mission: AFnet’s active outreach and orphan rescue ministry, of identifying and taking in destitute children who have no prospects, no resources, and no family to turn to. But through the prayers, compassion, and faithful sponsorship of our supporters, their stories are being rewritten. Today, many of them already are taking bold steps into responsible adulthood, equipped with practical skills, education, and the confidence, knowing that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Your partnership, not only helps us provide food, shelter, and care in their early years. It helps open doors to a future filled with dignity and purpose. Without your generosity, these bright young lives would still be trapped in the hopelessness of poverty. Gratefully, we’re able to report that over the two decades since launching the orphan program, we’ve helped and invested into the lives of thousands of destitute children. We’ve built 8 Centres, linking 7 to related associate ministries more specially able to focus on orphan care. AFnet still maintains and runs the Zambia program in Mansa, which serves as the model for other African churches to emulate.

We have 136 children currently enrolled in the Mansa centre. And, while we’ve rotated well over a 1000 children through that program. Post High School, 12 of our orphans have graduated through University, College or Trade-school, with another 11 currently enrolled and studying full time at one or other Institution of Higher learning. Amazingly, some of our orphans today academic and professional qualifications: medical doctors, pharmacists, teachers, registered nurses, a pastor, accountant, human recourse officer, and an agriculturalist. And, on the skills side we have qualified carpenters, electricians, a heavy duty mechanic, professional caterer, skilled tailor, bricklayer, a prison warden, and a delivery driver. One of our orphans, Mildred who became a teacher, is now on staff as our after-school teacher and tutor at the Centre.

As we continue walking alongside these remarkable young men and women - watching them study diligently, serve humbly, and grow into the people God is shaping them to be - we’re once again in awe of what He accomplishes through the generosity of His people.

Your prayers, your gift, your support, your advocacy - however the Lord leads - could be the key that unlocks a future full of hope and purpose for one of these precious lives.

A word from Johan

Your partnership has borne real, lasting fruit. From all of us here: thank you.
Your prayers and sponsorship is doing far more than just meeting needs - it’s
building futures. And what a blessing it is to have you journeying with us. But
even as we celebrate, we’re brought face to face with a deeply felt need. 14 of
our high school graduates - each of them qualified, eager, and ready - have
been accepted into college or vocational training programs. They’ve done
their part. They’ve shown character, commitment, and competence. But right
now, we simply don’t have the funds to take them across that final bridge. We
appeal to you. Would you prayerfully consider how you might help us stand
