It’s impossible this Thanksgiving to not highlight our “gratitude.”
“Great is Thy faithfulness, Oh Lord! – Our gratitude towards Your amazing work falls far short and can never be enough.”
Reflecting on the three decades since launching AFnet, we’re filled with nostalgia. Reminiscing on our years of service and leadership responsibility, we’re most grateful to the Lord for calling us to serve Him in this capacity. It’s been an exciting ride and a privilege to make friends and to create ministry partnerships across the African continent while enjoying countless opportunities to minister in as many as 36 African countries. We never could have imagined the impact that a small mission could have on a huge continent.
And so, we’re grateful to you, our prayer and financial partners. Without you, we could never have reached the countries, cities, towns, neighborhoods, and deep rural areas – those regions of Africa that we’ve been privileged to impact for God’s Kingdom.
But we’re also ever so grateful for a rich legacy of Godly and committed Ministry Partners, Associates, Team, and Board members who have so diligently served in varying capacities to further the vision, mission, and purpose of AFnet over the years.
Likewise, we’re most grateful for every soul added to the Kingdom; each Pastor, Church Planter, Evangelist, and Christian Leader trained for more effective ministry and service among their own people across greatly varying cultures, languages, ethnic, and People groups. Equally, we’re grateful for the impact of thousands of churches planted and for every orphan whose life has been indelibly changed.
Finally, and grateful for your partnership with us in this mission—as well as for your prayers and financial support thus far—we can boldly appeal to you during this season of Thanksgiving to consider a special year-end gift towards AFnet. As a Mission Agency, we stand at the threshold of a brand-new season in the life of this Ministry. Will you help us to reach multitudes more across Africa with the hope of the Gospel?
With much love, appreciation, and gratitude,
Johan and Christa

A word from Johan
The Great Commission is the ultimate task that we’ve been charged with
undertaking as Believers and Disciples of Jesus Christ. And therefore, our
enduring challenge must be the fulfilment of that Task. . And so it’s appropriate
to ask the question: “How close are we to completing the goal of reaching the
world with the Gospel?” Or, put another way, and as our children so often ask
when on a long journey: “Are we there yet?”
But, reality evidences that we are not there yet! There are still many regions,
cultures, tribes, casts and People groups that need to be reached before
we can conclude that Christ’s commission to “make disciples of all nations”
has been reached. Therefore, please continue to pray for us, while also
strengthening our arms through your continued contributions towards
this work. We’re not there yet in Africa. But we are making progress through
God’s infinite goodness and mercy!
